Research and Development Facilities

The NASA Glenn Research Center encompasses research facilities built on two sites. Lewis Field, the main campus, is situated next to Cleveland Hopkins Airport in Cleveland, Ohio. It includes 150 buildings on 350 acres. Research testing can also be run at additional facilities at Plum Brook Field Station, a 6,400-acre complex in Sandusky, Ohio, about an hour west of Cleveland. Glenn’s world-class facilities and expert staff help develop and verify cutting edge technologies in the areas of aeronautics, aerospace and space. The premier ground test facilities support powered flight through the atmosphere and beyond.
